About the role 

We have a fabulous opportunity for a pro-active and result-driven individual to join as a Senior Management Accountant for TMS (Total Marketing Support), a unique and growing division of DS Smith PLC, a renowned packaging and display manufacturing company.

The Senior Management Accountant would be responsible for providing financial support, insights, and guidance to internal stakeholders to support strategic growth and enhance the decision-making process. This role supports our European region and manages the regional reporting, working with our Finance Business Partners to compile accurate budgets and forecasts, including cashflow, which reflect the agreed strategy and activities for the region.

This is a varied role within the business unit, reporting to the Head of Finance and manages a small team, supporting their growth and development within the business. You will also support the wider Finance team to ensure adequate and robust financial controls are in place and identifying where improvements can be made.

This is a senior role within the team, which means that strong communication skills are critical, whilst being able to present information in a clear and accessible manner to a variety of audiences to be successful.

About you  

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified
  • Demonstrable experience within a management accountant or similar finance role in an FMCG environment  
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures and balance sheet controls
  • A good mix of Management Reporting, team leadership and process improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to senior level
  • Constructive challenger with a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced Excel proficiency

Location:  This is a full time, hybrid role with 2 days on site (one of which is Tuesday) at our offices in Manchester.
