Senior Management Accountant, EMEA

This role will work with the wider Finance team to ensure that the daily financial activities of the company are running smoothly and are in line with longer term forecasts and contribute to an effective internal control environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the company’s finance & accounting functions are properly managed for your scope and that all internal and external reporting requirements are met on a timely basis. Your role will support broad company initiatives and interact with key internal and external stakeholders.

The Senior Management Accountant plays key role in the monthly close process by demonstrating ownership mindset and high level of responsibility over the accounts.
 

• Oversee management accountant(s), providing guidance and coaching as required, and taking responsibility for managing and planning workloads to ensure timely delivery of key reports/projects

• Manage, alongside the Finance Manager, delivery of monthly Management Accounts and month end trial balance for your scope.

• Manage, alongside the Finance Manager, preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for review.

• Maintenance of the general ledger, including posting of journals, maintenance of prepayments, accruals, CoS and deferred income schedules. Identifying and coordinating resolution of any issues to ensure records remain accurate

• Ensuring that the company’s internal financial control systems, processes and policies are complied with by all parts of the Company’s operations

• Responsible for delivery of weekly cashflow forecast for the entities under your scope, partnering with CCF team to understand and mitigate levers/risks

• Help to deliver key projects to enhance the overall efficiency of the team deliverables

• Manage coordination of Fixed Asset Registers and depreciation, including setting up new registers on site RFS

• Preparation of Management Information and Analysis as required. Assist with budget queries and comparison of actual costs with budget

• Manage VAT and Tax returns in collaboration with tax department and service providers

• Deal with and respond to customer and vendor queries in a prompt and timely manner

• Manage, alongside the Finance Manager, the annual audit, local audit and statutory accounts

• Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment

• Fluency in English is an essential requirement

• Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA), accountancy education or equivalent experience,

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

• Experience of working in a Data Center or Critical Infrastructure environment considered as an advantage

• Experience in dealing with issues and problem solving

• Have excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage projects and deliver to tight deadlines under pressure with minimal supervision

• Be able to plan, organize and prioritize both own and others workload to meet deadlines

• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, as well as Microsoft Office 365

• Have experience of building and managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, including external advisers and auditors

• Have experience of working effectively in collaboration cross-functionally to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives
