Concretene, a Manchester-based nanotechnology firm, has secured a £3 million investment to expedite the certification process and market entry of its graphene-enhanced admixture. The new admixture aims to reduce overall cement usage and lower emissions.

As reported by FinancialNews, Molten Ventures led the venture capital funding round, with additional support from LocalGlobe, a U.K.-based firm that previously provided seed funding to help the company establish its core team in 2023.

FinancialNews also reports that Concretene is partnering with pre-cast manager Roger Bullivant and global cement leader Cemex to create low-carbon formulations for CEM II/III cement. This initiative is also supported by £1.2 million in grant funding from Innovate UK, awarded in 2023.
