Greentec Auto US, a specialist in hybrid and electric vehicle battery remanufacturing, repair and end-of-life solutions, has opened its first U.K. facility at Trafford Park in Manchester, marking a step in the company’s expansion into the U.K. and wider European EV market.
According to Invest Manchester, the new site will provide battery testing, diagnostics, remanufacturing and logistics services for both consumers and commercial customers as Greentec aims to offer a more sustainable and cost-effective alternative to full battery replacement, helping to cut waste and lower the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing new batteries.
The opening aligns with the region’s ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing and clean energy industries. As Greentec’s first U.K. facility, the Trafford Park site has been designed with future growth in mind, including the capacity to scale as the area strengthens its position as a hub for the low-carbon industry.
A spokesperson for Greentec Auto UK told Invest Manchester that the opening represents more than just a new building, describing it as a long-term commitment to the U.K. market. They added that the investment will support the creation of skilled green jobs and contribute to the development of a circular economy for hybrid and EV batteries.
