Cloud Imperium Games has an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled Workplace Operations Specialist to join our Facilities & Maintenance team working at the company’s HQ in Manchester. You will help support our Manchester Studio, ensuring it is a safe, fun place to work for all our staff.
Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games creates cutting-edge videogames that defy expectations. We’re currently developing Star Citizen, a record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, and Squadron 42, a cinematic single-player adventure set in the same universe. This is a permanent full-time, on-site role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday but may require additional ‘out of hours’ work as planned by the leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the company’s activities.
What does a Workplace Operations Specialist at CIG do?
- Undertake scheduled, planned, and reactive maintenance tasks proactively or as directed. This will include building fabric works, responding to leaks, blockages etc. This will from time to time include installation and project type works.
- Weekly/monthly compliance checks and testing and accurate record keeping.
- To immediately report and/or make safe, to the appropriate place or person, any potentially dangerous or hazardous situations.
- To advise on parts/labour for additional works interfacing with contractors as required.
- To oversee specialist contractors and to escort where required.
- General upkeep/maintenance/handyman tasks with a manual handling bias.
- Physical activities constitute a significant component of this position.
- Moving and relocating furniture, large appliances, and objects are routine tasks associated with the role.
- This list is not exhaustive and on occasion there will be a requirement to help other departments as and when required or as instructed by the Line Manager.
What experience do we expect from our Workplace Operations Specialist?
- General facilities maintenance/building related tasks e.g decorating, replacing locks, furniture building etc.
- Previous experience within a maintenance/facilities role.
- Good communication and customer service skills
- IT Literate including iPhone/iPad and Android devices
- Good time and diary planning skills
- Ability to report clear concise information to the operations department
