This position sits in our Manchester-based Design & Technology business unit. We primarily deliver large-scale website design and build projects, combining our skills in developing future-ready technical solutions with our expertise in creating beautiful designs to help clients including Nikon, London Marathon Events and END. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional and engaging digital experiences. 



JOB PURPOSE


We are looking for a Medior UI Designer to join our Manchester-based experience design team to craft outstanding digital experiences, working on projects at all stages of the lifecycle for a range of high profile B2B and B2C clients.


Working collaboratively within a team of UX/UI/Content Designers, Brand Designers and Project Managers, together you will create amazing experiences, award-winning designs, and intuitive interfaces. But we’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable crafting immersive journeys as they are in taking the client on that design journey.


You will strive for every project to feature the best possible UX, surpass client expectations and support Dept in becoming a number one design destination in the UK.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Design Projects: Oversee the design process from concept to final delivery

  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with UX designers, Content Designers, Brand Designers and Project Managers
  • Develop and Maintain Design Systems: Create and maintain design systems and component libraries to ensure consistency across platforms and products 
  • Prototype and Test: Build interactive prototypes to validate design concepts and facilitate usability testing to iterate and refine designs.


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


  • Have at least 3+ years of experience working within multidisciplinary teams for fast paced agencies
  • Are highly proficient in UI design and have an extremely good understanding of layout, grid systems, UI best practices, accessibility, design systems and responsive design
  • Have a strong portfolio demonstrating your design capabilities and understanding of digital graphic design and UI
  • Have experience working with atomic design and design systems, and using reusable components
  • Have extensive knowledge around design tools, in particular Figma and Creative Suite
  • Are comfortable presenting to the wider team and in-front of clients
  • Are meticulous, with strong attention to detail, striving for pixel perfection
  • You will push to create award winning work and are comfortable providing and taking on board feedback
  • Are hard-working, passionate and enthusiastic about design and are eager to learn and grow with us
  • Can comfortably communicate and work closely with the development team
  • Are able to produce high quality concepts in limited time frames when supporting with pitch work and new business ideas
  • Have experience working with agile and waterfall processes as well as working in sprints
  • Have a desire to be pushed and challenged every day
  • Have a good understanding of current design trends
