Salary - c£50,000 FTE (£30,000 pro-rata'd) plus Veolia benefits including a car/car allowance, generous bonus and pension contributions

Location - London/South - Hybrid (regular on site travel and working will be required)

Hours - 24 hours a week part time (0.6 FTE)

What you’ll be doing:

We are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist with a solid understanding of TUPE legislation and ER best practice and who can join our established ER Team in the Municipal business acting as the Subject Matter Expert on both TUPE and general day to day ER matters. The successful candidate will, in addition to supporting a designated allocation of Operational Contracts on various ER matters, have oversight of all aspects of TUPE for both incoming and outgoing business activity. You will advise and guide operational managers through complex ER / TUPE procedures and responding to bid queries and questions, developing  and delivering on mobilisation plans ensuring smooth transitions and legal compliance.  

A significant aspect of the role involves managing the rationalisation of multiple terms and conditions and managing people's transition data, ensuring it is shared and processed in accordance with legislation and GDPR compliance. Staying updated on changes to Employment / TUPE legislation and current case law is vital, and you will evaluate the impact and make relevant recommendations for change as required.

This post will involve travel within the region with the occasional trip further afield for team development days which may involve overnight stays. 

What we’re looking for:

  • Level 7 CIPD or equivalent qualification. Chartered member of CIPD or working towards this with evidence of continuous professional development.

  • Previous experience in an HR Generalist or ER role with significant TUPE experience

  • Previous experience of advising and guiding senior stakeholders on a range of people matters in a comparable work environment.

  • Experience of supporting large scale organisational change and restructuring programmes including TUPE, redundancy and contractual variations.

  • Experience of partnering with trade unions and a good understanding of the trade union framework and collective bargaining including pay negotiations.

  • Experience of leading large scale/multiple change programmes.

  • A good understanding of current employment legislation.

  • Experience of mediating disputes and bringing matters to a positive conclusion.
