Location: Manchester
Hybrid Working (2 days in the office, 3 days WFH)

The Transfer Pricing Manager is the primary person responsible for managing the transfer pricing compliance requirements for Lonza across the globe, guaranteeing that high quality work is prepared within the timeframes stipulated by local regulations and at a cost efficient level. Such documentation should also reflect Lonza’s transfer pricing policy and enable the group’s wider tax strategy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leads the efforts for the preparation of high quality, consistent and cost efficient transfer pricing documentation for the Lonza Group worldwide.
  • Is able to find solutions for complex problems in a technically sound yet pragmatic way.
  • Collaborates with strategic TP team to guarantee that documentation adequately reflects the group’s policy (current or envisaged) and mitigates any potential litigation/controversy risks.
  • Collaborates with Operational TP team to improve data collection processes and guarantee coherence between implementation and documentation.
  • Collaborates effectively with other stakeholders, in particular in Finance, for data collection.
  • Is able to lead and coordinate a team which aims at internally preparing group wide TP documentation.
  • Understands the potential for process automation through technology for the facilitation of the TP documentation work, involving internal or external IT teams.
  • Understands interdependencies between TP and other tax areas, such as broader direct tax, indirect tax and customs.
  • Presents and communicates to senior stakeholders on complex TP concepts.
  • Manages external support services, in line with available resources and existing priorities.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Economics, (Tax) Law, or Finance
  • Solid experience in TP documentation projects with global scope, preferably inhouse
  • Solid understanding of transfer pricing rules
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Project management
  • Ability to think independently and solve problems / proactively propose solutions
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
  • Strong quality mindset
  • Strong understanding of the importance of defining and documenting (standardized) processes, with enablement of technology solutions in mind
