We are looking for an experienced Staff Product Manager to drive Personio's Payroll tax and social insurance product area. This area is responsible for the correct communication of payroll data to German authorities, while ensuring user-friendly and compliant experience to support companies in a highly regulated and complex environment.
As a Product Manager for Payroll at Personio, you will shape the vision, strategy, and execution of our product's automation, keeping Personio at the forefront of HRM and Payroll software in Europe. We believe in a low level of managerial overhead where our senior product people are hands-on in building. This role involves close collaboration with the department leadership group, working with a world-class product team, and coaching a small set of product managers.
Role Responsibilities: What you'll do

  • Develop a deep understanding of the market as well as our customers, their pains and jobs-to-be-done
  • Systematically analyze user feedback and usage data gathered qualitatively through customer interaction and from quantitative sources
  • Create and align teams around strategic goals, relevant KPIs and a respective product roadmap often across Domain boundaries
  • Plan, enable, and execute against a product roadmap based on an objectively prioritized backlog that spans multiple teams
  • Lead specific complex topics within the product that extend across domain boundaries
  • Decompose complex problems in close collaboration with Engineering and Design counterparts and write clear specifications that drive direction
  • Manage product delivery in an agile setting and guide your team in all sprint activities


Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • You speak German (native)
  • You have minimum of 7 years in product management within a B2B or B2C multi-product company, specializing in the development of global customer-facing products
  • You have a proven track record of navigating complex product areas, utilizing data, competitive intelligence, and user insights to define effective strategies and roadmaps
  • You have demonstrated success in conceptualizing, developing, launching, and scaling platform-backed products within a fast-paced environment
  • You have strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to support assumptions, formulate business cases, and establish OKRs
  • You have the ability to think big yet pay attention to details, exhibiting a strong bias for action and the capacity to manage multiple competing priorities, fostering a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • You have a deep sense of accountability and ownership, fostering collaborative, result-oriented work
