Job DescriptionJoin our Europe & UK Local team and be at the forefront of tailoring Wise for our diverse markets! You'll be directly impacting how millions pay by building innovative features like our recent Open Banking integration, while also streamlining our systems through impactful architectural changes and expanding payment options across Europe. We're an agile, fast-paced team that lives and breathes data, constantly seeking customer and business feedback to drive our decisions and deliver in rapid sprints. The Engineering Team at Wise is central to what has made the business successful. Having product-focused and forward-thinking engineers has allowed Wise to cater to the needs of customers unlike any other business. They have built a world-leading platform and product, but there is still more to do.
As a key member of the team, you will be instrumental in building specific products to improve market fit with a current focus on our expansion into the Spanish market.
You will also continue to improve our local payment methods and work on our Open Banking journeys across Europe and the UK.
This is new and challenging territory for Wise offering a huge potential to drive new customer experiences and make a significant direct impact on our customers' lives by reducing fees and speeding up transfers.
You will also collaborate closely with various teams, including Banking, Product Compliance, Platform, and Customer Service to ensure seamless execution.
The team is extremely data-driven, providing an opportunity to work with modern development methods and become a leading expert in the rapidly developing field of Open Banking.
We are looking for someone with demonstrated impact in a customer-facing environment who is excited to take ownership of these country-specific products.
QualificationsWe're seeking someone with solid professional experience in Java and Spring Boot, bringing expertise and exceptional communication skills to thrive in our dynamic environment where requirements aren't always crystal clear.
You'll be confident and effective within our high-velocity team. Bonus points if you have a background in fintech, experience with customer interviews or A/B testing, exposure to Product Management, or comfort with data tools like Superset or Grafana.
You won’t be boxed in and will be free to work on our current and new products. We’ll help you to grow, and have the ability to shape our products — you’ll love to figure things out on your own.
