The Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory is a Business Unit within AECOM’s Buildings and Places business line.  We are recognised as industry leaders in the field of sustainable development. Our projects range from working with Governments to support Building Regulations and National planning policy relating to climate change, to developing energy and sustainability strategies to support our towns and cities in achieving their net zero ambitions, We work on the design and planning of new developments, across all construction stages, from pre-feasibility, through feasibility, business case development, design, construction and operation; and across a wide range of sectors - housing, healthcare, schools, universities, data centers, offices, retail, hospitality etc.  We also deliver advice relating to existing portfolios.

Our work includes:

  • Design advice and feasibility studies for new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Environmental assessments - BREEAM, LEED, WELL and the RICS Ska Rating.
  • Circular economy strategies and embodied carbon calculations.
  • Sustainability statements and appraisals.
  • Sustainable masterplanning of new communities.
  • Preparing industry-leading best practice guidance and policy advice for Government, GLA, RIBA and CIBSE.
  • The development of policy on low carbon and renewable energy, climate change and sustainability issues at national, regional and local levels.
  • Energy strategies including the planning and design of decentralised energy.
  • Research into reducing energy use, improving resilience to climate change and creating more sustainable buildings and places.

What you’ll do! 

Due to a growth in the demand for LEED assessments for projects in the UK and Europe, we are looking for a sustainability professional with experience in LEED assessments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and conducting environmental assessments of buildings focusing on LEED, but possibly BREEAM and WELL assessments. This can cover both design stage and post construction assessment of buildings.
  • Manage sustainability input and resources to achieve deliverables.
  • Presentations to clients and chairing meetings.
  • Delivering high quality, clearly written outputs.
  • Delegating work to junior staff and managing delivery.
  • Contribute to writing proposals and winning new work.
  • Building client relationships and delivering work.
  • Contribute to thought leadership and the continued growth of AECOM’s Sustainability & Decarbonisation Advisory.
  • Developing sustainability strategies to support building design teams and sustainability statements to support planning applications.
  • Contributing to a wide range of projects as the workload dictates.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?

Requirements:

  • Experience in LEED Building Design + Construction and / or LEED Interior Design and Construction.
  • An ability to communicate effectively, be client-facing and able to write concise and clear reports.
  • Experience in working with clients and project teams and managing projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A science, engineering or building-related degree.
  • A LEED AP accreditation is desirable, but not necessary.
