Role Summary
At the heart of Pfizer's Digital hosting and application development strategy sits the Cloud and Network Security Services (CNSS) organization. Enabling all manner of digital infrastructure and cloud development capabilities, these services and products permeate across Pfizer influencing business outcomes and providing value to our business, shareholders, and patients every day. Pfizer is currently on a journey to deepen and extend our use of the Microsoft Azure cloud. The Azure Cloud Engineering role will work with a team of cloud engineers, developers, and product specialist with the goal of building native cloud capabilities for all of Pfizer to consume.
The Azure Cloud Engineering role provides senior level technical and design experience and will be key in maturing the Pfizer Azure Cloud environment. The role will have ownership in establishing a secure, compliant, productive, and innovative cloud hosting environment. The role will bring expert level experience in designing Azure cloud solutions and implementing infrastructure as code capabilities. This role will deeply influence how Pfizer Digital consumes and utilizes Azure hosting technologies in support of all business lines on a global scale and will be critical to the development of Azure cloud capabilities. The Azure Cloud Engineering role will directly impact how infrastructure is designed, qualified, built, and ultimately made available to Pfizer customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong demonstratable experience in working within an Azure infrastructure environment along with developing solutions using infrastructure as code.
Role Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross functional, global engineering and service development team while creating enduring internal engineering and development standards.
  • Bring expert level knowledge in Microsoft Azure cloud services with demonstratable infrastructure design experience.
  • Directly Influence how our business consumes Azure cloud technologies with a bias towards repeatable infrastructure as code principles.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers, developers, and product teams to build native cloud capabilities for Pfizer.
  • Design and architect global standards for the deployment and management of the Microsoft Azure cloud.
  • Partner with customer teams to ensure new Azure services are deployed in concert with business requirements and a repeatable fashion.
  • Keep abreast of new Azure services and their applicability to Pfizer's Azure cloud deployment.
  • Address any systemic issues in product durability and partner with operational teams to ensure effective & efficient ongoing supportability of the cloud.


Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • 6+ years of experience in an enterprise IT setting, preferably one in a highly regulated industry such as banking/financial or healthcare/pharmaceutical.
  • Expert-level knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure development, implementation, and sustaining support.
  • Experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure using industry standard IaC capabilities such as Terraform.
  • Excellent communicator, with an ability to influence horizontally and vertically across a large, complex, and matrixed organization. Adept at managing priorities to identify those outcomes with the greatest value for Pfizer.
  • Customer centric mentality biased towards delivering value to Pfizer at the speed demanded by our business.
  • Experience integrating application hosting needs with Azure infrastructure capabilities to build secure and well architected capabilities.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


Nice-to-Have

  • Demonstratable experience working in a DevOps environment with expert level knowledge in building, maintaining, and deploying infrastructure as code solutions.
  • Experience building infrastructure as code capabilities using Terraform; configuration management experience using Ansible.
  • Experience qualifying cloud services capabilities for use within a GxP regulated environment.
  • Cross functional experience in managing cloud infrastructure, security, networking, and application development.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,800.00 to $201,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
