R&D Packaging Manager

Job Description
What's on the Menu:
We are looking for a highly skilled and ambitious R&D Packaging Manager to join our team at Kraft Heinz. As a key member of our EMDM (Emerging Markets and Developed Markets) R&D Packaging team, you will provide technical packaging knowledge to drive our packaging strategic agenda, meet consumer needs, quality standards, and drive business growth.
In this role, you will lead and coach a team of packaging specialists on a project basis, providing guidance and expertise to ensure successful project outcomes. Note that this role does not have direct reporting lines, but rather a matrixed leadership approach where you will influence and collaborate with the packaging specialists to achieve project goals.

Key Ingredients:

• Technical lead for innovation and renovation global projects from R&D packaging standpoint
• Develop and deliver competitive packaging solutions to drive business growth, focusing both on sustainability, cost-out and convenience, using consumer data.
• Support management of long term platform strategy to support business growth.
• Building internal and external network/partnership to support building up the short and long term pipeline
• Translate current and future packaging legal obligations into strategic plan/technical solutions
• Be the subject matter expert on all regulated Packaging, EPR and recyclability requirement.
• Support in building the capability and competencies of the Packaging Development Team
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of packaging technology, identifying those trends and developments which can enhance product performance, efficiency and quality.

• Completed packaging, engineering, or science degree
• +10 years of experience within packaging development with an understanding of diverse materials and packaging manufacturing processes
• Understanding of current packaging legislation framework
• Leadership and ownership skills
• Strong Project management skills, ability to think strategically, learning agility and strong organizational skills.
• Problem-solving, creative, and pragmatic mindset
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Grit and resilient attitude
• Business fluency in English (written & verbal)
