Collectively the team are responsible for delivering functioning solutions to our clients, but as a QA Engineer:

  • You'll have the support of experienced professionals within the team, who can give you guidance and help you make decisions
  • You are familiar with the development process, and take ownership for certain aspects of the process by putting appropriate methods and tools in place
  • It’s important you feel comfortable having team discussions with the client on the project and contributing your thoughts and ideas into the team
  • You will have responsibility for owning and delivering on specific tasks, being the design authority and accountable for creating solutions

Qualifications

Thinking like a tester is a skill, and we rely upon your inquisitive and curious mindset.

Are you driven to implement test strategy to give a client confidence that a quality product has been delivered?

You would be part of large-scale projects where you will get to work with a robust technical automation framework using for example Cypress, Selenium or equivalent.

In addition, experience of using functional testing techniques, performing accessibility testing, and using non-functional testing tools is an asset. 

The ideal candidate will be shaping the quality of the project by improving test strategy, design and implementation while also acting as a role model for junior QA engineers

Some of the skills and attributes that we believe make a good QA Engineer;

  • A QA mindset 
  • Test strategy and test planning experience
  • Being a valued member of the team – you will be embedded into sprint teams, work closely with developers and we expect you to take responsibility for the quality of the sprints delivered
  • Experience of working with test management and defect tracking tools
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools 
  • Working against a branching strategy e.g. git, svn or cvs
  • Understanding of OOP 
  • Writing clean, readable, maintainable and reusable code. Using fundamental tools and languages e.g. Java, JavaScript and C#, SQL, Unix, CLI tools, PowerShell, Shell Scripting, HTML, CSS and APIs
  • Implementing and using automation frameworks and approaches like Selenium, TestNG, Visual Studio CodedUI, BDD tools such as Cucumber, or SpecFlow, integration between testing framework and CI/CD tools
