Our opportunity
Underwater Systems has a really exciting opportunity for a Project Control Team Lead to be part of the PMO team on a multi-million pound programme to deliver sonar capability across a fleet of RN Submarines for the P15 programme.
You will be responsible for supporting the Project Management Team by providing an effective specialised Project Control including the provision of accurate, integrated and meaningful bid and / or project planning and reporting which includes monitoring, analysing and reporting against the programme schedule to ensure that information is used in project decision-making based upon the status of the most up to date schedule.
This is a great opportunity where you will act as deputy to the current PMO Lead, including supporting meetings and managing the team when the PMO Lead is on leave or unable to do so, this will include but not be limited to representation or chairing (as appropriate) Demand Reviews (both D0 and UWS), CCBs and PMO Team Meetings. You will also be responsible for developing excellent relationships with varied and multiple stakeholders utilising networking and influencing skills that can support Thales in delivering the right Programme/project outcomes at the right time and to the right cost and quality.
Security Clearance -- Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires you to be a sole British National from birth and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment. About You:
-
You will have proven successful “hands-on” experience in planning; scheduling, data analysis & cost control within a complex engineering/manufacturing environment covering high level & detailed schedule compilation, programme reporting, budgeting & risk management and can demonstrate resilience

You will have ideally have working knowledge / application of scheduling tools such as Oracle Primavera and Microsoft Project

You will have a thorough understanding of planning techniques – for example; the application of critical path analysis, work breakdown structures etc…

You will have a high level of proficiency in the use of project planning tools and standard business administration software.
