We’re looking for an HR Adviser to support one of our newly acquired Operations & Maintenance contracts, providing a responsive, commercially minded HR service to around 300 employees across 20 locations throughout the UK.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll work closely with managers and key stakeholders across the contract, providing practical advice, coaching and support throughout the employee lifecycle.

This is a varied role with plenty of opportunity to make an impact. You’ll be trusted to advise on a broad range of HR matters, support managers through complex situations, and help shape how HR is delivered as the contract continues to grow.

This role is based in our Manchester City Centre offices.

  • Coach managers on the effective application and interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Help managers make fair, consistent and well-informed decisions, aligned with current and emerging employment legislation and local arrangements.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with line managers and stakeholders, understanding their priorities and providing proactive, commercially focused HR support.

  • Provide advice on policy, process and legislation throughout formal cases.
  • Support investigations, hearings and other formal employee relations processes, helping managers approach sensitive situations confidently and effectively.
  • Encourage early intervention and practical solutions to employee relations challenges.

Payroll, Reward & Benefits

  • Prepare accurate monthly payroll submissions for the contract.
  • Work closely with the Payroll Team to support a smooth, efficient and accurate payroll process.
  • Support associated reward and benefits activity, ensuring employees and managers receive the right level of support.

Supporting Our People

  • Support visa processes for new and existing employees, ensuring requirements are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Work closely with managers to improve sickness absence management and support employees through their return to work.
  • Help managers take a proactive approach to attendance and wellbeing, contributing to sustainable improvements in absence levels.

HR Data & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and systems.
  • Produce timely and meaningful HR information and reporting to support decision-making.
  • Contribute to Board reporting, attrition and sickness absence reporting, and quarterly Group Meeting presentations.
  • Take on other reasonable duties appropriate to the level of the role, supporting the evolving priorities and needs of the organisation.

Why Join Us?

This is a great opportunity to join a growing operation at an exciting stage of its development. You’ll have the visibility, variety and opportunity to make a genuine difference that comes with working in a hands-on HR role.

You’ll work alongside experienced HR colleagues while building strong relationships across the operational business.
