We are looking for a detail‑oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to take ownership of the Purchase Ledger and support a range of financial and compliance activities within our UK operations.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy of supplier invoice processing, timely payments in line with the Delegation of Authority (DOA), and the integrity of monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
In this position, you will manage the end‑to‑end administration of the Purchase Ledger, including coding and posting invoices in JDE and Sage 200, preparing payment runs, and maintaining accurate aged creditor reports. You will also contribute to the financial close process by preparing journals, performing weekly bank reconciliations, maintaining FX rates, and supporting balance sheet reconciliations.
Beyond core accounting tasks, the role includes responsibility for weekly reporting on shipping schedules, inventory in transit, and intercompany balances, as well as monthly reporting on sales revenue, commissions, on‑time delivery performance, and freight cost analysis. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, support both internal and external audits, and provide assistance to the Credit Controller when needed.
A key aspect of the role is ensuring compliance with international trade requirements by maintaining accurate and complete records for import and export shipments. Throughout all activities, you will uphold SOX controls, ensure data accuracy, and contribute to timely and reliable reporting.
This role requires strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and at least two years of experience in a finance environment. AAT qualification is essential.
