About the Role

FareHarbor is looking for a full time Engineering Manager to join our team and to lead two end user focused teams in our Amsterdam office.

You will lead two teams of engineers and work closely with the engineering group to help each member develop their skills and careers, while helping teams expand the FareHarbor application.

You will work collaboratively with the technical management group within the Engineering and Product organisation to ensure that the engineering teams you lead are firing on all cylinders to reach company objectives. You’ll understand the priorities of the team and the company at large, and use that understanding to effectively lead your team to success.

You’ll also work to ensure that the Amsterdam office is a phenomenal place to work. From little things like getting everyone out for an after-hours hangout, to team-building initiatives like regular demo-days with our global Product Team, your goal here is to ensure that coming to work is exciting, interesting, and positive.


What you’ll do here:

  • Manage 8-9 direct engineering reports across two teams
  • Lead teams in transitioning to data driven experimentation culture
  • 1-on-1s, career management; develop an encouraging and ambitious environment
  • Technical guidance on effective solution design, decomposition strategies
  • Technical leadership and mentorship for the team members
  • Assess and manage the performance of the team members
  • Tracking and optimizing each team performance
  • Close collaboration with the Product Managers of the teams and Group Product Manager overseeing the area
  • Balancing between product development advancement and engineering excellence
  • Assist in hiring initiatives for the Engineering and Product group as needed

Requirements:

  • You have experience leading engineering teams for at least 2 years
  • You see processes as tools for achieving great products, not goals in their own right
  • Enjoy and thrive under a high level of autonomy and responsibility
  • You want to work in and encourage a positive, supportive, and lively environment
  • You are genuinely excited to mentor engineers
  • Have a technical background and can effectively judge technical solutions proposed by your teams
  • Strong experience with experimentation mindset and conducting A/B testing
