What you'll do as EMEA Director of Solutions Engineering
As Director of Solutions Engineering you will be leading the EMEA Specialist Solutions Engineering team. The Specialist Solutions Engineering Team is a high-impact pre-sales group of Solutions Architects and Specialist SEs with deep domain expertise. Beyond supporting our Field SEs in discovering, architecting, and demonstrating Cloudflare technologies, this team plays a pivotal role in thought leadership- shaping technical strategies, educating customers, and driving innovation in the industry.
This position requires a blend of technical excellence, strategic vision, and leadership to ensure that the team not only delivers cutting-edge solutions but also acts as trusted advisors to customers and the broader technology community. Solutions Architects on this team are expected to bring a broad and adaptable technology skill set, enabling them to engage across multiple domains, influence industry trends, and guide customers through complex digital transformations.
As this position is central to many processes and initiatives inside the EMEA region, key responsibilities involve amongst others collaboration with cross-functional teams. You are curious in nature and are willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done across boundaries of responsibilities, e.g. when taking ownership of the coordination of escalations or when elevating the evolution of internal processes.
As a leader you foster a strong and collaborative culture within the team. The team consists of industry veterans to early-in-careers and everything in between. You empower the people in your team to learn, grow and develop themselves through mentorship and coaching at their pace, commensurate with the position and level of their career.
As the EMEA leader of the Specialists team, a key aspect of the role is to ensure we have a strong alignment with the Products Business Units. This includes helping co-defining enablement strategies, honing product feature requests processes and influencing product roadmaps to align with our customers' needs in EMEA.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent customer needs during product discussions to influence development priorities.
  • Optimize pre-sales processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Ensure alignment between technical solutions and business value propositions.
  • Engage with customers and prospects with a multi-level selling approach
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and professional development for team members

Skill Requirements:
  • Curiosity and Learning Agility
  • 5+ years of experience in a prior leadership role managing technical sales, with minimum of 10-years related industry experience.
  • Proven ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with sales techniques like MEDDICC, Solution Selling and Champion Building.
  • Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Previous experience in scaling engineering teams within high-growth SaaS companies.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation.

Other desirable skills areas include:
  • Prior experience in the cybersecurity, networking or cloud infrastructure domains (either as an individual contributor or in a leadership role).
  • Proven track record in public speaking at industry conferences.
