This isn’t a back-office data role. It’s about influence. You’ll be the bridge between insight and action — helping teams across AQA understand what our customers need, want, and experience, and guiding them to make better decisions, faster.

Working with the Customer Intelligence Business Partner, you’ll act as the vital link between insight and action. This will help teams across AQA understand our customers’ needs, expectations, and experiences, and empower them to make timely and informed decisions. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Turning business questions into testable hypotheses and actionable insights. 

  • Using storytelling, visualisation, and communication skills to make complex data clear and compelling. 

  • Creating content — from blogs to dashboards — that brings insight to life. 

  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to embed a customer-first mindset. 

  • Championing AQA’s values and helping shape a culture that puts learners and educators at the centre.

The Customer and Product team works across all areas of the organisation providing insights, guidance and supporting improvement efforts to ensure our customers are kept front and centre in everything we do.Landscape:
The Customer Insights Data Communicator helps others make informed business decisions, leveraging data and insights, more quickly. The responsibilities of the role include effectively communicating insights throughout the business to a wide range of audiences and facilitating and enabling insights-driven decision- making
The roles serve as a central resource to the business. The role will utilize storytelling and leadership communication skills to find insights in quantitative and qualitative data
Activities:
Engage with internal stakeholders to inform how they make decisions and ensure their decisions are customer centric and driven by insight
Engage stakeholders to turn their business questions into testable hypotheses. Help prioritize needs and translate requirements for technology, analytics, and data science teams.
Utilize statistical methods and data visualization techniques to interpret and communicate complex data in a clear and accessible manner.
Content creation (blogs, short-form video, podcasts, or short-form narrative text).
Present insights to diverse teams inside and outside the organization applying data storytelling best practices and tailoring the message for the audience
Designing insights reports and dashboards
Uncovering and delivering insights to a broad range of business stakeholders
Champion the behaviours, values and leadership approach we wish AQA to be famous for. Guide and inspire the team through consistently exemplifying these values and behaviours internally and externally.
Help embed a customer-centric culture across the organisation and champion the customer, so we continuously put them at the heart of our activities.

Where business needs change, to undertake other responsibilities which are of a commensurate level outside the terms of this role
To be successful in this role, you will need to know:
Data storytelling and visualisation best practices
Qualitative and quantitative analysis and research methodologies
Knowledge management — enabling systems where users can locate and search diverse datasets.
Essential
Moderate degree of data literacy competence
Advanced communications, marketing, or journalism experience.
Basic understanding of technology and information architecture.
Understanding of business intelligence tools and data visualization best practices.
Excellent networking and relationship building
Proactive, credible and inquisitive mindset
