Job Description

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're all driven by our purpose, to Help Britain Prosper. It's why we exist - it's our reason to get out of bed in the morning. The choices we make, our success and our future really matter.

But the world is changing fast - and we're changing too. It's never been a more exciting time to join us as we transform our business to shape finance as a force for good.

Our team

Lloyds Banking Group’s goal is to become the biggest Fintech in the UK.

Our team is on the journey to create the next generation cloud platform for Lloyds Banking Group that will be at the core of one of the UK's biggest financial service transformations

You will become part of a product-aligned, highly skilled and motivated engineering team who specialise in GCP networking. Our purpose is to build platform services that enable application teams to rapidly develop and modernise their solutions.

Job Description

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer with knowledge of Google Cloud networking and a passion for creating secure, reliable, automated infrastructure at scale. You don’t need to tick every box — but should recognise yourself in most of the following:

What’s needed to be considered for this job?

· Hands-on engineering experience with GCP networking in enterprise environments — exposure to core services like VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, VPC Peering, Cloud Routers, Firewalls, DNS, Load balancers, Private Connectivity and Cloud / Hybrid NAT.

· Terraform expertise and experience deploying infrastructure as code.

· Practical DevOps experience using modern tooling (e.g., Git, Terraform, Terraform Cloud, GitHub, Harness).

· Taking time and doing it right — whether reviewing code, supporting colleagues, or resolving networking issues across production and non-production environments.

· Strong engineering discipline: designing, deploying, and owning services through their full lifecycle, with security, compliance and reliability built in.

About you

You enjoy working with challenges and building resilient, automated solutions at scale. You’re energised by how cloud networking underpins modern AI, data and hybrid-cloud architectures. You care about doing things the right way: secure, observable, automated and resilient – and work across teams to achieve it.

Nice to have (Not required — but great if you have some of them.)

· Experience maintaining large-scale GCP networking or hybrid connectivity environments.

· Network Connectivity Centre

· Understanding of how GCP networking supports key workloads (e.g., Compute, Database, storage, and data/AI platforms).

· Familiarity with Python or Bash for infrastructure automation.

· Knowledge of enterprise network concepts such as IP management, proxies, firewalls, Infoblox or identity platforms.

· Exposure to monitoring and telemetry systems (e.g., Dynatrace, Google Cloud Monitoring).

· Relevant GCP certifications or a background in cloud/infrastructure engineering.

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

With us you'll have a key role to play in shaping the financial services of the future, whilst the scale and reach of our Group means you'll have many opportunities to learn, grow and develop.

We keep your data safe. So, we'll only ever ask you to provide confidential or sensitive information once you have formally been invited along to an interview or accepted a verbal offer to join us which is when we run our background checks.  We'll always explain what we need and why, with any request coming from a trusted Lloyds Banking Group person.

We're focused on creating a values-led culture and are committed to building a workforce which reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve. Together we’re building a truly inclusive workplace where all of our colleagues have the opportunity to make a real difference.
