Join the HERE Navigation team as a Working Student and contribute to the ongoing development of world-class location-based services for consumers. The HERE Navigation team delivers state-of-the-art location technology via HERE Navigation, combining the efforts of around 40 engineers, designers, and product professionals. In this role, you'll work with a cross-functional team to enhance the HERE Navigation Portal, collaborating closely with engineers, testers, designers, and product owners to develop robust, user-centric solutions. - Collaborate in a cross-functional team to improve a web application and backend APIs.
- Develop and implement new features, enhance existing functionalities, and resolve defects.
- Contribute to a clean and well-tested codebase using modern technologies.
- Apply problem-solving skills to build sustainable and scalable solutions.
- Follow best practices to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
Tech Stack: Java, Scala, Pekko, MySQL,TypeScript, React, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes
Who are you?Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science or a related field.
Good foundational knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Basic experience with at least one JVM language (e.g., Java or Scala).
Passion for functional programming principles.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Team-player attitude with a collaborative mindset.
Would be a plus
- Experience with frontend development using TypeScript and React.
- Familiarity with backend technologies like Pekko.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and platforms, especially AWS.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
NOTE: It is a 6 months contract for 20 hours/ week.
