The Way4 SME at Shift4 will serve as the key expert on the Way4 platform, helping to deliver and optimize payment processing solutions for our clients. This role involves both strategic and hands-on technical expertise in Way4’s implementation, configuration, and performance optimization. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and partners to ensure the smooth integration of Way4 within the broader Shift4 ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

  • Way4 Expertise:
    Serve as the go-to expert for all things related to the Way4 platform, including transaction processing, integrations, and configuration across multiple payment channels.
  • Implementation & Deployment:
    Lead and support the deployment of Way4 solutions, providing expertise during the installation and configuration phases to ensure timely and successful implementation.
  • Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
    Offer ongoing technical support, including the resolution of complex issues related to Way4 and its integrations with third-party systems. Lead troubleshooting efforts for Way4 systems to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Integration & Consultation:
    Work closely with clients, stakeholders, and third-party providers to ensure seamless integration of Way4 with other systems and payment infrastructure. Provide consulting on best practices for integrating payment gateways, card networks, and financial institutions.
  • System Optimization:
    Continuously monitor and optimize Way4 platforms to ensure high availability, scalability, and security. Identify opportunities for performance improvements and implement solutions to increase operational efficiency.
  • Business Requirements Analysis:
    Collaborate with internal business teams, analysts, and clients to understand business needs and translate them into effective, scalable solutions within the Way4 platform.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
    Maintain thorough technical documentation, including configurations, best practices, and troubleshooting guides. Share knowledge and expertise within the team to foster a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Collaboration:
    Collaborate cross-functionally with developers, infrastructure teams, product owners, and business analysts to deliver integrated solutions aligned with Shift4’s goals and client needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with the Way4 platform or a similar financial transaction platform.
    • Proven expertise in the implementation, optimization, and support of Way4 systems in a complex, multi-channel environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong expertise in Way4 configuration, deployment, and integration.
    • Familiarity with payment gateway technologies, card schemes, and financial transaction systems.
    • Proficiency with APIs, SQL, and scripting languages related to Way4.
    • Hands-on experience with cloud-based infrastructures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architectures.
  • Card Scheme Regulations & Mandates Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of card scheme regulations (e.g., Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and mandates.
    • Familiarity with the operational rules, compliance requirements, and the latest changes in card network regulations.
    • Experience in navigating and implementing regulatory mandates across different regions.
    • Strong knowledge of the ISO 8583 standard for financial transaction message formats.
    • Experience in configuring and troubleshooting ISO 8583 message protocols within Way4 or similar payment systems.
  • Certifications (preferred):
    • Way4-specific certifications (preferred).
    • Relevant certifications in payment systems, financial technologies, or infrastructure management (optional).
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
    • A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a focus on collaboration.
