About Us

MarketAxess is on a journey to digitally transform one of the world’s largest financial markets, enabling the shift from analog, phone-based trading to a fully electronic marketplace. Why does this matter? Because our platform makes trading fixed-income more accessible, ultimately improving transparency, efficiency, and competition in the marketplace. Changing the way an established industry transacts is no easy feat. There will be twists and turns, because no one’s ever done this before. But now, more than 2,000 clients around the world rely on our solutions, and that number is only expected to grow in the years ahead. We know where we’re going. How we get there is up to us. Join us and help Take Us There.

The Role

We are seeking a UX/UI Designer to join our UX Platform Team with expertise in designing trading platforms and a deep understanding of financial markets. The ideal candidate is someone who can quickly translate complex workflows into intuitive, high-quality experiences, working closely with product and technology teams in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

You should be passionate about solving UX challenges, leveraging industry best practices and a user centered approach. You enjoy designing for large data, minimal whitespace and dark themes. You will be designing complex data grids, trade workflows and data visualizations in an innovative way that help create seamless user experiences.

We embrace a culture of collaboration and experimentation while striving and encouraging all team members to focus on continuous improvement and learning. We openly welcome diverse perspectives and people who are not afraid to challenge assumptions and prior ways of working.  Otherwise, how do we innovate, learn and grow as a team and individuals?

How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Understand, define and document workflow diagrams to ensure clarity and alignment in the end-to-end user journey.
  • Design new functionality for the company’s fixed income trading platform and create high-fidelity prototypes in Figma to communicate design intent effectively, within a fast-paced environment while delivering polished, high-quality designs.
  • Collaborate and iterate on design with product managers, developers and stakeholders to align design solutions with business goals.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years’ enterprise software UX design experience designing applications/products
  • Expert in Figma for design and prototyping.
  • Experience utilizing multi-theme design systems
  • Experience designing with complex data grids
  • Experience designing trading or capital markets applications
  • Ability to define workflows, gather requirements and communicate design decisions clearly
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with product and technology teams
