 The Challenge

  • Management of the Treasury function for all UK Entities. This includes management of cash / working capital, foreign exchange risk, liquidity investments and payroll accounting and accurately recording all entries relating to these areas.
  • Role would suit a qualified treasurer / accountant with previous experience in managing treasury operational functions as well as financial accounting.
  • The ability to mix both proactively managing the Treasury operations function as well as accurately accounting for the functions areas of responsibility.
  • The individual should be able to operate within a fast-paced environment, be agile in managing priorities and be able to have view of the ultimate goals of the department but not be afraid to get into the detail, whilst collaborating with other departments to achieve these goals.

This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the UK treasury function, liaison with the US treasury function and direct management of the Senior Treasury Analyst.

 What You’ll Take On

This role will include oversight and management, as well as the related accounting entries and controls for the following:

  • Cash flow management: Working capital / liquidity management and cash flow forecasting
  • Local investment management: Assess and action investment opportunities in events of excess liquidity and optimising return on these investments. Ensuring all activity is recorded accurately
  • Foreign Exchange Management:
    • On a monthly basis identify / forecast foreign exchange risk, taking action to mitigate these via a balance sheet hedging program
    • Ensure the program is accurately accounted for and producing monthly FX flux analyses to explain any unusual FX P&L movement
  • Intra-group loans: Maintenance / monitoring and formulation of new loans between intra-group companies worldwide. Ensuring all activity is recorded accurately
  • Banking relationships and systems:
    • Liaison and contact point with local partner banks (JPM / Wells Fargo etc.)
    • Local super-user / administrator for all relevant online banking systems
  • Payroll:
    • Managing the Snr Treasury assistant to ensure all financial payroll related entries are booked and accurately accounted for in a timely fashion on a monthly basis, including control of all relevant balance sheet reconciliations
    • Financial review of all entries including month on month flux analysis
    • Financial team liaison with internal payroll and HR teams
  • P&L responsibility for the financial costs of the UK: This includes analyses and control of FX movement / Interest costs / dividend and other income
  • Accounting and control:
    • Ensure all areas of responsibility and subsequent output is accounted for accurately and in a timely manner within set deadlines.
    • Ensure all processes are SOX compliant
  • Projects: Lead for any existing and future treasury ad-hoc projects

 What You Bring

  • Qualified Treasurer and/or Accountant with multiple years’ experience (minimum 5)
  • Good ERP systems and BI systems knowledge
  • Flexible knowledge of bank and investment portals
