We are looking for a UK Finance Controller to join our team.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the UK Finance Controller will work in the Group’s International Controllership function with specific responsibilities for our four UK legal entities.

You will be accountable for the effective and timely delivery of the monthly close activities and supporting the associated reporting for the relevant business groups, assisting with the production and submission of local statutory and compliance requirements, and meeting the quarterly reporting requirements for the Clarivate Group. The Finance Controller will provide support and control of the legal entities balance sheets and ensure that the financial statements reflect local and international standards as well as complying with the Sarbanes Oxley recommendations.

This is an amazing opportunity for someone with exceptional relationship building skills, as you will be working cross functionally with business finance, corporate functions, internal & external audit, and within the shared service center community.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

· Qualified accountant in ACCA, CIMA, or ICAEW.

· At least 3 years of post-qualification experience

· Solid financial and management accounting background

· Prior experience within a large global services organization

It would be great if you also had . . .

· Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP and preparation of UK statutory accounts

· Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS desirable

· Working knowledge of UK corporate and sales tax compliance

· Knowledge of End-to-end accounting process

· Prior experience of managing a small finance team

· Advanced Excel skills

 

What will you be doing in this role?

· Manage the entire statutory audit process for the UK companies.

· Manage the production, review, and approval process for all monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

· Manage the delivery of the monthly close activities for each company under remit.

· Balance sheet and P&L monthly flux analysis.

· Production and review of key supporting schedules for balance sheet and P&L

· Controllership of balance sheet accounts for all companies within remit, providing guidance on key issues and resolution to problem items in accordance with corporate SOX guidelines

· Managing a small UK Finance team.

· Support monthly tax compliance and filings.

· Support the integration of acquired entities.

· Manage ad hoc projects.

 

About the Team

The role reports to the UK Director of Accounting and is based in the Cambridge region. We are a team of 5 colleagues based in the UK. The global finance function continues to develop as the group integrates recently acquired companies.  

 

Hours of Work

This is a full-time permanent position based in Cambridge, UK and will require hybrid working in our Cambridge office (2-3 days per week in office, rest of week remote). This role could also be based out of our London office (Liverpool Street).

This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
