PROFILE

The ideal candidate will have previous testing experience as well as the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment along with technical aptitude.

The role will be attractive to someone who has good communication skills with a technical background and the potential to assimilate technical information to a high standard. Candidates must be proactive and be able to push themselves to learn, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to support both clients and internal teams. Attention to detail is essential as is a working understanding of SQL queries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Final gateway validation of new/changed products on Testing environments to ensure exact match to agreed customer requirements specification.
  • Validation of new/changed products on Testing environments from a client’s perspective prior to formal user acceptance testing.
  • Requirements review and test plan creation.
  • Process improvement with a focus on ways to increase efficiencies in current testing processes.
  • Logging, tracking and first line analysis of issues resulting from all internal system integration testing. Liaising with internal teams and relevant project managers on issue resolution and associated retesting (issue and regression).
  • Direct support for clients during their formal user acceptance testing period to validate issue/fault through reproduction and maintain known issues list;
  • Contribution to improvements in processes, procedures and tools used day-to-day for quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Quality assurance of delivered product changes.
  • Work effectively with internal teams, service and project managers to ensure the consistency of product changes is delivered.
  • Engage efficiently with clients during their user acceptance testing, assisting with issue reproduction and resolution and documentation
  • Communicate clearly on all aspects of internal validation, user acceptance testing, issue investigation and progress.
  • Assist project managers during new/changed product delivery to the client.
  • Proactively create and expand knowledge base articles via Confluence / Sharepoint

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

  • A working understanding of SQL including the ability to write basic-intermediate queries.
  • Basic understanding of UNIX commands (for navigating directories and viewing files).
  • Technical background / Testing experience.
  • Experience of creating test plans based on collated requirements.
  • Manual testing experience.
  • Ability to understand and learn technical information quickly.
  • A familiarity with XML.
  • Comfortable working in a technology space with the ability to solve client testing issues and issues within this domain, sometimes within tight timescales.
  • Results orientated, self-motivated, persistent, ability to work independently and follow through to deliver objectives.
  • Positive attitude and outlook, determined, enthusiastic and resilient with a sense of ownership and responsibility.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written are essential along with good interpersonal skills.
  • Great organisational skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated to attain desired objectives and outcomes.
  • An understanding of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Tools
