This role is responsible for three deliverables:

Conducting the continuous (bi-annual) and initial assessment of competence for stamp holders on the shop floor. Delivering Training in the GE Wales Training Academy Facilitate training on the shop by consulting with trainees, trainers, and Production Leaders (PLs) to ensure the prompt delivery of On-Job-Training on the sections.  Unblocking training and tracking completion.

They will report to the Technical Training Leader, and the role will be aligned to days.

The Assessor is a critical link in assuring the continual and initial competence of our Production Teams.

They will have a technical background, with experience on the shop floor.

They are fully conversant in all GE Wales policies, from EHS and Quality through to production processes.

Consulting with Operations, they will schedule and conduct bi-annual and initial competence assessments confirming technical and behavioural competence of stamp holders.

They will also complete any required documentation and update the individual’s training records.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Create and deliver training in the new GE Wales Training Academy to new starters and existing employees.

  • Assure compliance with the Part 145 requirements of a bi-annual check of competence by assessing stamp holder’s competence and behaviours.

  • Maintain the competence assessment records.

  • Consult with the Training Co-Ordinator and PLs to schedule competence assessments when they are due and minimise the impact on production schedules.

  • Work with PLs, Trainers and Trainees on sections to ensure that training is completed correctly, and there are no blocks to completion.  Track the training progress of each section and escalate as required.

Qualifications / Responsibilities

  • Qualified Aircraft Engineer

  • A good knowledge of the Part 145 regulatory system.

  • Sound understanding of GE Wales EHS, Quality and Production processes.

  • Train-The-Trainer will be provided if the applicant does not already have it.

  • Training on conducting assessments will be provided.
