Company Overview

Interactive Brokers Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: IBKR) is a global financial services company headquartered in Greenwich, CT, USA, with offices in over 15 countries. We have been at the forefront of financial innovation for over four decades, known for our cutting-edge technology and client commitment.

IBKR affiliates provide global electronic brokerage services around the clock on stocks, options, futures, currencies, bonds, and funds to clients in over 200 countries and territories. We serve individual investors and institutions, including financial advisors, hedge funds and introducing brokers. Our advanced technology, competitive pricing, and global market help our clients to make the most of their investments.

Barron's has recognized Interactive Brokers as the #1 online broker for six consecutive years. Join our dynamic, multi-national team and be a part of a company that simplifies and enhances financial opportunities using state-of-the-art technology.

Due to significant business growth, IBKR is looking to hire a number of additional Trade Surveillance Analysts in any of its offices in Budapest, Dublin or London. These Analysts will review trading activity of the firm’s customers to identify potential breaches of market abuse rules or market related financial crime. IBKR has established its own proprietary surveillance capability, leveraging its historical proprietary trading background. The IBKR surveillance roles, therefore, offer interesting work and challenges, and opportunities for deep dive investigations versus the mass false positive alert processing roles offered in many financial institutions.

If you are a recent graduate looking to kickstart your career in financial services, are motivated, have strong initiative, are analytical and methodical; we can offer you a position that will both challenge and reward you while becoming part of a team that is one of the world’s strongest brokerage brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting trade surveillance monitoring of customer activity on EEA markets, for potential insider dealing or market manipulation
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely alert management, following standards for closure or escalation
  • Documenting surveillance reviews, investigations, and other activities following guidelines
  • Assisting with the on-going design, development and calibration of alert reports and systems to help identify potential suspicious behaviour
  • Preparing STORs for submission to FCA or CBI
  • Assisting with written responses to inquiries from the FCA, CBI, other European regulators or trading venues regarding IBKR customer activity
  • Liaising with global colleagues to ensure all impacted IBKR entities are informed of suspicious activity

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate with an academic background in economics, mathematics or finance related subjects
  • Basic knowledge of financial markets an advantage
  • A passion to grow your financial markets experience in a small-team and fast-paced environment with an ability to work independently and to multi-task with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Quantitative and technical background a plus
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills

Location and hours:

20 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 3BY

9 am – 6 pm, Monday–Friday (Hybrid model)

Benefits:

  • Career support and development
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based discretionary cash bonus scheme
  • Discretionary stock grant
  • Group Life Assurance cover
  • Group Income Protection
  • Occupation pension scheme based on Gross earnings
  • Hybrid working model*
  • Above statutory annual leave, increasing with service
  • We currently offer daily company-paid lunch and healthy snack options throughout the day (when working from the office)
  • Access to Private Medical Insurance, Dental Plan and/or Health Cash Plan (including dependants) *
  • Corporate events
  • Travel season ticket loans
  • Cycle to work scheme.

*on successful completion of the probation period
