As a Technical Risk and Odds Analyst here at Sporty, you will be responsible for working closely with our Tech & Product team to bring your trading, technical and mathematical acumen in order to support the wider teams on some of our trickiest problems in the bet validation and settlement spaces. 


Responsibilities


Analyze betting patterns and performance to identify potential vulnerabilities and areas of opportunity

Make recommendations to improve the internal trading tools whilst working closely with internal stakeholders

Collaboration with teams to ensure constant innovation in improve pricing and risk management products as a whole

Collaborate with global teams of Product Managers and Developers to understand business requirements and provide accurate translations to aid the transformation of excellent products

Participate in monitoring and optimizing risk management processes from a technical perspective to recommend improvements and best practicesInvestigate issues by troubleshooting, analyzing codebase, inspecting logs etc

Act as second level of technical support to in-house Trading team

Gather, review and analyze business and industry data, including KPIs, financial reports and other key metrics using data analytics tools


Requirements


Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field

Sportsbook industry experience, understanding trading issues and betting concepts is essential

Understanding of quantitative models and mathematical concepts

Translate product demands into technical requirements within sports betting/risk management context and clearly define expectations for developers

Backend technology experience is preferable including reading and understanding of backend codebases; programming fundamentals expertise (at least 1 object oriented language), database modeling and APIs

Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex risk management concepts to developers and/or traders 

Experience working with large data sets, statistical data analysis, predictive modeling is considered an advantage

Proven experience working with numbers and risk management tools as well as analyzing and interpreting financial data

Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
