Description

Location: Cambridge, UK (remote-friendly within the UK) with occasional travel to the office once per quarter.

Technical Producers at Jagex turn complex technology efforts into player-visible wins. As a Technical Producer on Central Technology you’ll be accountable for the full lifecycle of technical programs—from early discovery and option-trading to rock-solid delivery and live rollout. Partnering with engineering leads, you’ll translate technical vision into actionable plans, track risks and dependencies, and keep cross-functional teams firing on all cylinders. Your mix of production craft and tech fluency lets you spot issues early, unblock devs fast, and ensure every technical decision maximises player value, quality, and schedule fidelity.

What you'll be doing:

Own Technical Programs

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of engineering-heavy initiatives (services, pipelines, performance work, platform integrations).
  • Be the point of accountability for scope, schedule, risk, and stakeholder alignment.

Drive Technical Discovery & Planning

  • Facilitate technical discovery sessions with engineers; evaluate solution options, trade-offs, and effort.
  • Produce clear execution plans: milestones, success criteria, capacity forecasts, and cross-team dependencies.

Synchronise & De-Risk

  • Maintain a living risk register; escalate or mitigate issues spanning gameplay, infra, security, and vendors.
  • Coordinate with central tech teams to secure reviews, tooling, and deployment windows.

Data-Driven Tracking

  • Build dashboards (cycle time, burn-ups, CFD) that make progress and blockers visible.
  • Analyse metrics, propose counter-measures, and adjust plans to keep delivery predictable.

Continuous Improvement

  • Run retros and RCAs for technical work streams; document learnings and franchise best practices across teams.

Translate & Communicate

  • Turn engineering jargon into clear status updates and player impact statements for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Champion a player-first, data-informed mindset in every technical decision.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive experience shipping games or large-scale software as a Technical Producer, Development Manager, or TPM.
  • Hands-on experience driving cross-discipline teams through discovery, planning, and delivery of backend or platform features.
  • Proven skill crafting milestone & sprint plans with clear dependencies, risk mitigation, and capacity alignment.
  • Comfort with CI/CD, version control, and automated test pipelines (e.g., Git, Perforce, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Ability to read technical specs, ask smart questions, and support engineers in decision- making—without being the architect.
  • Strong reporting chops: burndowns, velocity, defect dashboards, and data-backed forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to bridge tech and non-tech worlds.

What we offer:

When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks & Benefits package including:

  • Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.
  • Minimum 6% Pension contributions.
  • Employee Assistance Programme & onsite Counselling.
  • Life Insurance.
  • Discretionary annual performance bonus.
  • Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays & the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!
