What you'll be doing

Future's mobile app products are a core source of revenue and projected growth. This role is one component of a significant investment, focused on rolling out new apps for our broad range of brands.

As Tech Lead in Future's Apps Team, you'll work in close collaboration with the wider Technology & Engineering department. Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, your aim will be to ensure the delivery of a scalable, well structured, efficient “multi-brand” app platform integrated with a broader range of internal and external services.

The job will involve working on both green-field projects, using the latest libraries and best practice, and maintaining and improving legacy systems. You will be jointly responsible for the scoping of new system architectures, leading the development of software components, refactoring existing code, revising legacy architectures and working in collaboration with other teams to build new services and products.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

  • Track record building successful React Native apps (iOS & Android) with excellent TypeScript, Swift
  • Experienced in diverse app theming and functionality using technologies like Tamagui, with an eye for UX and accessibility.
  • Experience with deployment processes (App Store, TestFlight, Play Store, Expo) and CI/CD, with DevOps and AWS experience.
  • Technical leadership with people management skills, running peer-reviewed teams using Git/GitFlow and mentoring on best practices.
  • Experienced in integrating APIs, databases (SQL, NoSQL, Graph, Vector), and working with event-driven architectures and async operations (queues, topics).
  • Knowledgeable in modern web development alongside mobile, with understanding of accessibility and performance best practices.
  • Practical experience using AI tools like Cursor, with strategies to manage and validate AI output effectively.
