The opportunity: 

 

As a Support Engineer you will contribute to the design, development, test and maintenance of system features. You will work closely with all scrum team members, translating detailed business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with other stakeholders and IT teams for solution delivery – specifically in the data services space.  

 

What you’ll be doing: 

 

Provide application support for various applications built using Azure Cloud (Azure Data Factory, Databricks), Phinsys, and Master Data Management (MDM) tools. 

 

Develop, test, and iterate on MVP solutions to operationalize minor enhancements and changes. Leverage Windows Powershell or Python to optimise delivery. 

 

Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation and other project artifacts. Identify, diagnose and solve problems - supporting production issues where necessary. 

 

Drive technical excellence within the software development community of practice as well as provide technical oversight and assistance to other team members. 

 

Implement and maintain the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems. Work with product owners and technical leadership to align product outcomes in a dynamic environment 

 

Our must-haves: 

  • Experience in a similar analyst/programmer role, with an emphasis on supporting Data  

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or work experience/certification beneficial  

  • Experience of software design and development in a cloud environment ideally with Azure data offerings such as Azure Databricks, Azure storage, Redis cache  

  • Experience with working with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS 

  • Proficient with Python and Spark  

  • Experience working with any Master Data Management (MDM) and DQG (Data Quality and Governance) application - Ataccama preferred  

  • 5+ years’ experience with relational databases - MS SQL Server preferred 

  • Experience with management and maintenance of infrastructure - Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Azure resources 

  • Experience creating solutions using custom development, off-the-shelf systems, and 3rd party integrations 

  • Experience in diagnosing system and application issues with excellent analytical skills 

  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence 

  • Experience of Agile concepts and working in a scrum environment
