Role Summary:
Cox Communications is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Residential Marketing Analytics team. This role will be responsible for advanced analytics solutions design and implementations. The Senior Data Scientist will play a significant role in our teams' effort to maximize customer value by using different techniques such as Modeling, Segmentation and clustering to name a few. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively with our team of analysts, data engineers as well as business partners. It's an exciting opportunity for someone who is a proven data scientist who knows their way around analytics tools, and technologies.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to complete an entire lifecycle of an analytics project: gather and transform data, gain insights and develop the right analytics tool, validate findings and communicate recommendations to peers and leadership
  • Design solution/systems with a strong focus on insights/recommendations and strategic planning
  • Develop advanced analytical solutions using segmentation and modeling via transformation, statistical analysis, data exploration, visualization, machine learning, and optimization to solve complex business challenges.
  • Use foundational data science methodologies to identify relationships/drivers of core KPI's as it relates to marketing objectives
  • Support the team in mapping out customer journeys and developing activation opportunities from our lead management data sources
  • Work with the team to develop solution frameworks, streamline and automate system workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Apply advanced visualization methods to provide key insights from models and share those with our leadership team
  • Influence others through both business and technical expertise and insights


Qualifications Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., Master's degree and 2 years of experience, Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience, or 16 years of experience in a related field).
  • Requires strong knowledge of cloud-based analytics using SQL/Python and building predictive models by leveraging ML/AI technologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex analytics findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset and willingness to embrace new approaches.
  • Ability to work independently with little guidance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and translate business goals to a series of operative actions to assure alignment


Preferred:

  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Analytics, Engineering or closely related field. Ph.D. strongly preferred
  • Practical experience applying advanced ML, DP, and AI approaches to mass transaction reduction and customer experience optimization
  • Experience within telecommunications, cable industry, high tech, or consulting
  • Experience in data visualization solutions and data visualization tools


USD 99,000.00 - 165,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
