Kaluza is the Energy Intelligence Platform, turning energy complexity into seamless coordination. We help energy companies overcome today’s challenges while accelerating the shift to a clean, electrified future.

Our platform orchestrates millions of real-time decisions across homes, devices, markets and grids. By combining predictive algorithms with human-centred design, Kaluza makes clean energy dependable, affordable and adaptive to everyday life.

With teams across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan, we power leading companies including OVO, AGL and ENGIE, as well as innovators like Volvo and Volkswagen.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead individual and team delivery across the Energy Commerce domain, overseeing up to two cross-functional engineering teams and roughly 10 direct reports.
  • Drive technical and product vision within your area, ensuring that the software built is scalable, reliable, and directly solves the real problems of our global energy retail partners.
  • Nurture and upskill engineering talent by providing consistent coaching, managing performance, and fostering an environment of continuous professional growth.
  • Champion operational excellence by guiding teams toward best practices in automated testing, observability, and frequent production deployments.
  • Remove delivery impediments by working across the engineering leadership community to unblock your teams and maintain high-velocity delivery.
  • Collaborate on the technical roadmap with Staff Engineers and Product Managers to ensure long-term architectural health and business impact.

About You

Ideally you’ll have/be:

  • Extensive experience in Engineering Management leading high-performing, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • A deep passion for people leadership, with a proven track record of growing engineers and managing delivery through others rather than hands-on coding.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for non-technical partners.
  • A background in building scalable cloud-native systems (ideally AWS), with a focus on technical excellence and automated workflows.

What will set you apart:

  • Specific domain expertise in energy retail billing, commerce platforms, or complex financial orchestration systems.
  • Experience navigating high-growth environments where you have scaled teams or improved organisational delivery processes.
  • A strong bias for action and a history of leading teams through ambiguity to reach successful outcomes.
