Job Summary:
We are excited to be seeking an experienced Progress OE software developer to join our team. Working within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team, the role requires an understanding of the full software development life cycle. With a focus on standards and delivery, the ideal candidate will seek improvement in product and performance whilst maintaining good solutions and relationships for our customers and internal teams. This could be a hybrid role with our office location in Chorley, North West England.
Main role and responsibilities:
- Complete software development activities ensuring compliance and service delivery
- Provide technical advice in terms of products and technologies
- Provide 3rd line development support to our Customer Service and Quality teams
The ideal candidate will have:
- +5 years’ experience working in Progress OpenEdge (GUI, OE.Net, Appserver, PASOE, v12.8)
- An understanding of the entire software development life cycle
- An understanding of various software development principles
- Proven record of close customer engagement and team-centric approach
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals and their application in practice
- Experience with SDLC development tools, e.g. Jira, Jenkins, Integrated Development Environment
Additional desirable experience would include:
- Technical knowledge within framework capabilities (.Net, Angular, Spring)
- KendoUI, Ionic
- JavaDatabase technologies (Progress OE, MS SQL, MySQL)
- Web standards and protocols
- Experience with ERP systems
- Experience in the agricultural industry
