About the Role
As a Software Engineer with a focus on testing, you’ll work in a cross-functional team of software engineers to ensure that we have automated methods to identify potential problems. You’ll implement and continually improve both test infrastructure and frameworks to ensure that your team has the right tools to deliver high-quality products to our users. Working with the wider testing community, you’ll help ensure that Civica’s test standards drive great customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web (including cross-browser), API, and backend systems to ensure high-quality and reliable software releases.
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or K6 to validate the functional and performance aspects or services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other colleagues on product design, testability and implementation
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving the overall quality of test automation
- Analyze test results, report bugs, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently
- Contribute to documentation and decisions on team processes and tools
Requirements:
- Experience in test automation, with a focus on developing and maintaining reliable and scalable automated test frameworks
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Javascript or Typescript
- Understanding of APIs architectures such as REST and gRPC, and how to test and validate API requests and responses
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with .NET (C#)
- Familiarity with containerisation tools (e.g. Docker), and orchestration frameworks (e.g. Kubernetes)
- Python or Typescript
