Company Description

At Wise, we are fully devoted to our Mission: Money without borders. Instant, convenient, and eventually free. Over 16 million people and businesses use Wise, which processes over £9 billion in cross-border transactions every month, saving customers over £1.5 billion a year. We serve a wide range of customers from personal users, freelancers, small businesses and increasingly even to large enterprises and banks. Wise also offers over 50 currencies for customers to hold and convert money in.

Job Description

We’re seeking a Senior Technical Writer who is passionate about simplifying and documenting complex information. As the Technical Writer for Wise Platform, you'll be responsible for our public documentation at https://docs.wise.com/, collaborating closely with engineering and product management teams across Wise.

Your mission is to articulate technical information clearly and accurately to our partners. In this role, you will work alongside cross-functional teams and gather technical details to design and maintain comprehensive public-facing documentation that enables seamless integration with our products. You will do this by defining a user-centric information architecture, setting content standards and enabling product teams from across Wise to publish and maintain high-quality content.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in technical writing within complex environments, ideally with exposure to SaaS products. We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of information architecture, and a collaborative mindset. If you are adept at working independently, managing projects, and have a familiarity with API documentation and content strategy principles, you are exactly who we are looking for!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documentation: Design and manage client-facing documentation in our public API docs to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers and product managers to ensure content accuracy and completeness.

  • Content Strategy: Develop documentation standards, style guides, and user-specific content based on technical ability, use case, and business needs.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Experienced technical writer with a background in complex technical environments, preferably familiar with SaaS products.

  • Experience working with public API documentation.

  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage projects effectively and work independently.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.

Additional Information

We would like to see some of your work as a technical writer. Please share 2-3 links to API documentation you have written that is available in public docs. Please also include a short paragraph alongside each link and explain which role you played in writing the documentation.
