Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Server Engineer to join Allegion’s IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-performance server environments that support Allegion’s global operations. This role requires a deep understanding of server architecture, cloud integrations, security protocols, and automation to ensure our infrastructure remains resilient, compliant, and aligned with industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade server infrastructure across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline server provisioning, configuration, and management.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies are in place and tested regularly.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement security best practices, including patch management, access controls, and threat mitigation.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
Lead efforts to migrate legacy systems to modern, scalable platforms, including cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Document infrastructure architecture, procedures, and standards to support ongoing maintenance and audits.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate across IT teams to support enterprise initiatives.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s preferred.
7+ years of experience in server engineering, systems administration, or related roles.
Strong expertise in Windows Server, Linux/Unix environments, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
Deep understanding of network protocols, security, and compliance standards relevant to enterprise environments.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Strong Skills of Automation especially with python or bash.
Strong Background of Linux servers and Windows
Preferred Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Windows Server certifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
CISSP or CISA security certifications
