About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Platform Engineer to join our team focused on building and scaling our Analytics and Network Assurance Data Platform. This platform ingests, transforms, and serves large-scale telemetry and operational data to power advanced analytics, ML-driven insights, and real-time network assurance capabilities. You will play an important role in helping to deliver new ML powered features to our customers as well as monitoring and improving the existing features for performance and quality. This team leverages a robust technology stack that includes Java, Python, Flink, Spark, Kafka, OpenSearch, Kubernetes, and internal tools developed from existing open-source Big Data technologies
In this role, you’ll work at the intersection of data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and network observability, helping shape how massive volumes of data are collected, modeled, and served for both internal stakeholders and customer-facing analytics.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and SREs to translate network analytics requirements into performant data models and APIs.
- Create and maintain an optimal data pipeline architecture.
- Contribute and operate data quality tooling.
- Monitor and optimize compute and query performances.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across our applications and services.
Agile, pragmatic and hardworking. You also love to interact with data scientists, machine learning engineers and software engineers to develop pipelines that scale seamlessly at huge volumes of data. You love technology, innovation and building products at scale.
Minimum Qualifications- Expert-level understanding of object oriented programming languages such as Java and Python
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals and object-oriented design skills
- Involvement in building large scale real-time streaming and batch pipelines using Kafka, Flink, or Spark
- Exceptional team collaboration and communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced development environment
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Bachelor's / master’s degree, or a PhD in a relevant field
- Understanding and use of Docker, Kubernetes and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP)
- Exposure to network protocols
