Senior Software Engineer, Java - Extensibility

The Commerce Extensibility team is dedicated to building a robust and innovative developer platform, empowering third parties to extend the functionality of our e-commerce ecosystem. By offering a comprehensive suite of APIs, we enable developers to provide unique solutions for marketing, inventory, fulfillment, and customer management. The Extensibility platform is crucial for our high-revenue merchants, as it allows them to access expanded functionality to improve operations and drive growth.

We are looking for a experienced Java Backend Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and enhancing our robust developer platform. In this role, you will join a high impact team instrumental to powering Squarespace's Commerce goals.This is a hybrid role working from our Dublin office 3 days per week. You will report to the Engineering Team Manager of the Experience Team.

• Code: Contribute to projects that require technical expertise, solving engineering challenges with effective and innovative solutions.
• Plan: Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and roadmap planning, aligning technical work with our goals.
• Implement: Break down tasks, enhance team efficiency through code reviews, and build scalable, high-performance systems.
• Collaborate: Work with other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and effective technical solutions.
• Mentor: Offer guidance to junior engineers, supporting their growth and development.
• Lead technical design and implementation of complex features, focusing on API extensibility, performance, and maintainability.
