Description

We are monday.com, a global software company transforming how businesses run. With over 2,500 employees across the globe, we grow by prioritizing transparency and knowledge sharing. We care about the impact you make, not the hours you clock, so we encourage initiative, ownership, and fresh thinking. We back our people with flexible work, wellness and mental health support, and a work environment built on collaboration.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to take on impactful, high-scale challenges across our platform. In this position, you’ll own complex projects end-to-end and play a critical part in solving meaningful problems, with opportunities to shape architecture and mentor others. This role is perfect for seasoned engineers who thrive on making a lasting impact and leading through their craft.

Please note this is a hybrid position of 3 days/week in our London office (Fitzrovia).

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Async Communication team, part of the Foundations group. Our mission is to enable monday’s growth and scale by providing teams with reliable, efficient, and easy-to-use asynchronous communication tools.

This team plays a critical role in shaping how services interact across our platform. You’ll help make Kafka a first-class citizen at monday by building robust infrastructure and a developer-friendly Kafka SDK (currently available in TypeScript and Go). You'll also work closely with other teams to expand the ecosystem of readily available data and messaging patterns, supporting a wide range of use cases.

In addition, you'll gain a deep understanding of how SNS/SQS is used across monday, identify current pain points, and help define the next-generation tooling and infrastructure to support scalable, asynchronous communication.

About The Role
  • Work closely with Product and Design, taking full responsibility and ownership from conception to post-deployment in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Work on an end-to-end design and implementation of features - from database to UI.
  • Work towards impact - achieve customer satisfaction while taking into consideration scaling, performance and UX
  • Tech Stack: AWS MSK, Kafka, TypeScript and Go languages, Terraform

Requirements
  • Strong technical skills and a passion for developing features end-to-end (client and server).
  • Experience building web applications and/or distributed systems from scratch.
  • Understanding of product and a passion for building software that provides a great experience.
  • Strive for excellence, biased for action and collaboration with team members.
  • Team player, strong communication skills, and empathetic.

What monday.com can offer you:

  • Opportunity to join a well-funded, proven company with big ambitions and potential, competitive salary, bonus and equity incentive program.
  • Private healthcare insurance with Vitality.
  • ClassPass membership.
  • Buffet breakfast and lunch offered at the office from Monday to Thursday.
  • Fully dedicated learning and development team that provides opportunities for our employees to hone and gain new skills.
  • Fun team events, socials and offsites.
  • Amazing company culture that values transparency and collaboration while never forgetting to have fun while we work! We've been named "Best Place to Work" in the UK.
  • A global, dynamic and passionate environment with employees in Tel Aviv, London, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Chicago, Denver, London, Warsaw, Sydney, São Paulo, and Tokyo.
