Description
Our mission and where you fit in

At Employment Hero, we’re an ambitious bunch on a mission to make employment easier and more valuable for everyone.

Since our inception in 2014 we've had some pretty impressive growth (100% YoY), now serving 300,000 businesses globally, with 2 million+ users on the platform, reaching unicorn status in 2022 - and we have no plans to slow down.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join one of the fastest-growing SaaS unicorns, so let’s see if we could be a match!

What your days might look like

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer working in our Payroll team, you’ll be supporting our game-changing platform which enables businesses to automate their payroll processes and save countless hours of manual work every month.

You'll be working on both the application layer and infrastructure. We're making large improvements to our Payroll system, so you'll be involved in driving these forward, as well as running our cloud infrastructure and working on deployments, security, availability and monitoring.
Week to week you'll be:

  • Collaborating with teams right across the Payroll product
  • Working in our .NET codebase to find and fix problems
  • Designing and testing strategies which improve deployment time and up-time
  • Not just taking part in post-mortems but proactively monitoring performance and health-checking before issues come up!
  • Analysing MTTR (mean time to resolution) and MTBF (mean time between failures) and designing initiatives to improve
  • Supporting test automation coverage

You'll accelerate your career quickly, working with smart people across the UK and APAC regions, in a fully remote and flexible environment. We encourage our teams to work smart, leveraging Github Copilot and other generative AI.

What will you bring

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is keen to be hands-on coding with strong C# and .NET development skills
  • Is keen to help a scaling organisation de-tangle legacy systems
  • Has experience running cloud-based applications - we use AWS
  • Has some experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi or Terraform
  • Understands continuous integration and delivery pipelines and Gitops workflows
  • Is a strong communicator and able to work independently with teams across different time zones
  • Can collaborate with colleagues e.g. architects and security experts to implement best application and infrastructure security practices

Experience is important, but for us the biggest measure of success is people who can live and breathe our values. Show us what you can bring to the table, and we’ll empower you to let your talents shine.
