Rapid7 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Project Manager to join the engineering organization. The individual will be responsible for driving operational efficiencies and coordinating various aspects of the software development process across several software delivery teams.
About the Role
The Staff Project Manager will assist the planning, execution, metric tracking, and delivery of software projects and programs, ensuring alignment with the company's goals, objectives and standards.
In this role, you will:
  • Support the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software delivery programs and projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals and standards.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-team and cross-function dependencies.
  • Lead project teams across different functions, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program documentation, including project plans, budgets, timelines, and status reports.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates and ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  • Drive continuous improvement in SDLC practices, incorporating best practices and lessons learned.
  • Manage program budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and financial compliance.

The skills you'll bring include:
  • At least 7 years of experience in software project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing software development projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep understanding of software development life cycles, and current technology trends.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, as well as Jira Google Suite.
  • Proficiency in collecting, manipulating, analyzing and presenting data
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project/program management certification is preferred
