The Role
SoFi is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead a key pillar of our Mortgage business. In this role, you will own and define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for SoFi’s mortgage solutions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and our mission to help members achieve financial independence.
You will develop innovative, scalable, and high-impact mortgage solutions that simplify home financing and refinancing for our members. As a strategic thought leader, you will collaborate across the organization—partnering with Engineering, Design, Finance, Sales, Operations, Capital Markets, Risk, Compliance, Marketing, and Executive Leadership—to drive business growth, optimize the customer experience, and expand SoFi’s position in the mortgage industry.

What You’ll Do
- Own and define the mortgage product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap, aligning with SoFi’s broader financial services ecosystem.
- Develop and execute high-impact mortgage initiatives, optimizing loan origination, underwriting, and servicing experiences.
- Partner with capital markets and risk teams to influence pricing strategies, secondary loan sales, and underwriting policies.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive continuous improvements in conversion rates, time-to-close, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and data science teams to build scalable, intuitive, and automated mortgage experiences.
- Influence executive leadership by presenting business cases, customer insights, and data-driven recommendations.
- Drive cross-functional execution by aligning marketing, operations, legal, compliance, and other key stakeholders on priorities.
- Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, bringing clarity to ambiguous situations in a fast-paced, agile environment

What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline (technical or non-technical)
- 7+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of leading impactful, high-scale product initiatives
- Experience defining and launching complex financial products, preferably in mortgage, or lending
- Strong understanding of mortgage origination, underwriting, servicing, and capital markets dynamics
- Ability to work with executive stakeholders to align on priorities, secure resources, and drive execution
- Data-driven decision-making expertise, with the ability to define and measure key performance indicators
- Experience building automated, scalable, and AI-enhanced financial services products
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a strong ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to summarize complex issues
- Experience working with Salesforce CRM, contact center platforms, and loan operating systems
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver products on time
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs, and evaluate new ideas
- Experience working with remote teams
- Deep customer empathy and a passion for helping people achieve their financial goals
Nice to Have
- Experience leveraging AI or machine learning to improve mortgage decisioning or underwriting.
- Deep understanding of mortgage capital markets and secondary loan sales
- Prior experience leading mortgage technology initiatives in a high-growth fintech or banking environment.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
