Cloud Imperium is looking for a Senior Network Programmer in our Wilmslow Studio to work on our exciting MMO PC space combat sim, Star Citizen.
What do our Senior Network Programmers do?
- Working on our core network library
- Research and implement new cutting edge networking technology and tools
- Analyse, refactor and improve upon existing network codebase
- Helping programmers from other teams to implement networked game features
- Assist team members with debugging and fixing network related problems
- Pro-actively identify and address problems
- Integrating the client and server with our backend services
- Mentoring junior members of the team
What do we expect from our Senior Network Programmers?
- Strong C++ and multi-threaded programming skills
- Work well in a cooperative team environment
- Strong software debugging skills to effectively track/diagnose/solve a variety of complex issues
- Work well in a cooperative team environment
- Ability to innovate, plan, and deliver full features
- Excellent English communication, both written and verbal
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experienced in TCP and UDP network programming
- Experience developing server mesh technologies
- Experience profiling and optimizing (network, CPU, memory, IO)
- Development experience in Windows/Linux
- Experience with client/server development network traffic management
- Management experience
