As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within CIB Payments Technology, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple global technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities.
Job responsibilities
- Technical Service Lead within Cash Asset Management
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for multiple software engineering teams and cross-impacting functions (e.g. test, release)
- Ensure successful collaboration with business stakeholders across multiple services and regions
- Own and continuously drive forward the evolution of the technology estate
- Be accountable for decisions that influence team's processes and procedures
- Identifies and manages issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in managing software engineering team leads and other cross-impacting roles (e.g. test, release)
- Ability to coach and mentor teams on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
- Passionate about technology, architectural principles and patterns
- Experience in business stakeholder engagement
- Experience in software delivery methodologies and processes e.g. Agile (Scrum)
- In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems
- Appreciation of risk and control frameworks and the necessity to comply
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in managing people in other countries
- Experience in managing large, complicated projects
- Practical cloud native experience
- Experience working at code level
