Senior Logistics Operations Manager – Control Tower 

Location: Derby, Manchester or Warrington (Flexible / Hybrid) 
Salary: £71,000 – £88,750 + 17% bonus + £5,000 allowance

Our Operations & Supply Chain function is critical to enabling delivery across our programme, with logistics providing the backbone for safe, efficient and reliable material movement across multiple geographies. A key part of this is the development of a centralised Control Tower capability, providing real-time visibility, governance and performance management across our global logistics network. 

In this context, we’re looking for a Senior Logistics Operations Manager – Control Tower to lead the development and operation of our global control tower. You’ll work closely with Programme, Construction, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to ensure full visibility, proactive risk management and alignment with delivery schedules. 

Reporting into the Head of Logistics Operations, you’ll play a key role in establishing the control tower as the single source of truth for logistics data, driving performance, improving resilience and enabling data-led decision-making across the organisation. 

 

We’ll need you to: 

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the global logistics control tower 

  • Ensure real-time visibility of shipments, inventory and transport performance across all modes and locations 

  • Act as the primary escalation point for logistics disruptions, delays and service failures 

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and maintain delivery schedules 

  • Define and monitor logistics KPIs, delivering performance reporting, dashboards and insights 

  • Lead incident and exception management, implementing contingency plans to mitigate risk 

  • Drive process standardisation, continuous improvement and innovation across logistics operations 

  • Support digital transformation, including control tower systems, automation and data analytics 

  • Ensure data integrity, system governance and consistent use of logistics platforms 

 

You’ll bring: 

  • Proven experience in logistics operations, control tower environments or supply chain visibility platforms 

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end logistics operations across multiple geographies 

  • Experience managing logistics performance through KPIs, reporting and analytics 

  • Strong problem-solving capability with experience managing operational risk and disruption 

  • Experience working with 3PL/4PL partners and logistics networks 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills across cross-functional teams 

  • Commercial awareness with understanding of logistics cost and performance drivers 

  • Experience in complex, regulated or safety-critical industries such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing or aerospace 

 

Location & Ways of Working 

This role can be based from our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices, with hybrid working and regular engagement with stakeholders and suppliers.
