Ferring + You

You’ll oversee and strategically manage the law firm and ALSP electronic billing processes and relationships for the Chief Legal Office (CLO) team, helping drive strategy, processes, and practices to transform and improve our day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness, working in coordination with Global Legal Operations and the global CLO organization. Reporting to the Head of Global CLO Operations and Innovation, the Senior Legal Operations Specialist supports the organization’s day-to-day business operations. Additionally, this person will assist in executing strategies to sustain and improve the operational effectiveness of the CLO Department, and in related projects in support of Ferring’s growth agenda, while working as a trusted partner within the CLO team.

Your day at Ferring

  • Administrator and accountability for the eBilling system and processes, includes onboarding new law firms & service providers, matter management, assisting the users, handling billing issues, managing timekeepers & rates, collaboration of CLO law firm and ALSP spend across all billing platforms, accruals & analysis, and related activities

  • Coordinate and collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, Accounting, and Procurement to ensure the optimal eBilling operating environment

  • Help drive eBilling best practices, including but not limited to monitoring and managing vendor compliance with our billing policies, contributing to the strategic update of our Billing Guidelines and Engagement Letters to be best in market; being an active member of the relevant market networks to perform benchmarking across the industry for relevant rates, services, trends, and innovation.

  • Apply a Continuous Improvement mindset to identify opportunities to innovate and simplify the eBilling processes

  • Partner with the Brightflag team to identify potential improvements to the system and process, as well as develop and maintain a strategic eBilling roadmap that addresses the CLO team’s needs and drives innovation and adaption over time.

  • Embrace a love for data to enable eBilling reporting and analysis that helps us understand our law firm and ALSP spend and provides data driven insights into areas of opportunity.

  • Global Legal Operations projects and support the Global Head of CLO Operations and Innovation in helping drive the CLO Services Model to provide optimal business partnership to Ferring.

  • Act as a Legal Operations liaison for the entire CLO department, assisting where needed and identifying opportunities for improvement or collaboration across the team.

  • 3+ years of Legal Operations or related professional operations experience in a corporate support department or law firm; proficiency in eBilling systems required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree or training preferred

  • Strong analytical and excellent organizational skills, with a curiosity mindset – you should love solving problems!

  • Good interpersonal skills, customer service orientation and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships; works well in team environment

  • Strong verbal & written comm skills, esp in English

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, & SharePoint

  • Highest integrity and demonstrated ability to handle confidential information

  • Results and detail orientation
