We are seeking a motivated Senior IT Operations Manager to lead our IT function. This role calls for someone who balances technical proficiency with a keen strategic vision. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with exceptional organizational skills, committed to establishing and refining IT policies and procedures, while still maintaining hands-on involvement as the team grows.
As our Senior IT Operations Manager, you should be an effective communicator, able to translate technical complexities into clear, actionable plans. You thrive in a collaborative environment, inspiring your team to deliver high-quality work.
Your responsibilities will include managing multiple projects with an analytical mindset, focusing on the minutest details, and actively engaging in hands-on tasks. We value cognizance, tolerance, and appreciation of cultural differences. The role demands a proactive approach, ensuring the streamlined operation of our IT systems through effective management of access to applications, asset management, SSO configurations, MDM policies, and process optimization.
You'll be responsible for strategically shaping our IT landscape. You'll define policies and procedures, ensuring operational efficiency and data security. You'll also collaborate with HR to refine IT support for remote workers, including onboarding/offboarding processes.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the organization's goals.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Establish, document, and maintain clear IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement within IT operations and implement solutions, with an emphasis on ITIL framework principles. Identify and drive improvements and efficiency initiatives against current procedures in collaboration with business units.
- Systems Implementation: Oversee the selection, testing, and integration of new IT systems/applications.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance through robust security measures and regular system audits.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party service providers.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing IT team as the function expands.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate IT-related risks.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Technology Roadmap: Create and maintain a technology roadmap outlining future IT investments and initiatives.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT operations and regularly report on progress to stakeholders.
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's Degree: In Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience
- Proven Experience: In setting up and enhancing IT processes and operations, with a strong understanding of ITIL frameworks.
- Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to create and execute IT strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Policy & Procedure Expertise: Experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing clear IT policies and procedures.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Google Workspace, cloud services, SSO, and MDM solutions (JumpCloud).
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong Organizational Skills: Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional documentation skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Previous Experience: In a similar role, leading an IT function from its early stages.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ITIL or Project Management.
